Knowing God

As I am sitting here typing on this, I realized that a phrase I had heard so many times has never rang so true to me until now. I didn’t know that through so much love and so many caring people around me, God would truly show me that a phrase I had heard so many times is so true, “Knowing God is the Greatest Adventure.”

Whether it is a day that I had all planned out and he changes my plans to talk to someone who I haven’t talked to in a long time, or the love my friends have shown me.  This has shown me that when I fully surrender my life to Him, He reveals what He has in store for me.

Through this I have learned, I need to look to him through my daily activities, and even when it is something as simple as completing my school work, I need to glorify God through my completion and quality of it. It boiled down to, how does the music I am listening to, affect my walk with Christ? Is it helping me grow? Or is it holding me back?

Something that has been on my heart lately has been Philippians 4:8,9

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”

This is a verse that God has laid on my heart to live out my life in this way. No matter what the circumstances are. Through listening and striving to have an open heart, I have learned that the little nudges on your heart to do something or say something is God. That has transformed my faith and has made me want to know Him better.

By far, knowing God is the greatest adventure.
