For the next 30 days, I will be wearing the same shirt design. Now don't worry, I won't be wearing the same shirt 30 days straight without washing it, I have two of the same shirt design and will be alternating it and washing it on an off day.

Now, you probably are wondering why I am doing this. There is a school in Kansas City called Urban Christian Academy. You can check out their site here, or you can look at their mission statement below.

Our goal is to see our students on a different trajectory than the one their zip code dictates. We believe that while Jesus is the linchpin to transformation, an excellent high-quality education is a vehicle to a myriad of life options that we believe our students deserve and are capable of. We believe that lack of financial resources should not inhibit students from the opportunity to receive a high quality, Christian education. Our goal is to see our students on a different trajectory than the one their zip code dictates. Right now, the school here has grades K-2 but next year will be in need of a third-grade class. The school started off with one grade, and that was kindergarten. Each year they add a new class to accommodate the growing students.  Next year, that same founding class will be moving up to third grade.

We all spend our time, and ourselves some way, so we're choosing to spend our time and live selflessly to help Urban Christian Academy. As a youth group, we are taking this on and trying to raise money for this school.

For the students of UCA, tuition is FREE. So, for the next 30 days, along with many others, I will be wearing a shirt that says, "Ask me about 64130." This is in order to raise awareness and to see if people would like to donate.

If you would like to participate or help out, visit www.pleasantvalley.org/heartwork or please let me know, and I can let you know about the different opportunities available!

Update: Sunday, October 23rd was the first day and we've already raised enough money for a scholarship for 1 of the 15 kids!
